Science inquiry gets underway.

 In Room 19 for science we're learning about sheep's wool and felt! We took the wool, put it inside our

shoes, then walked around for 24 hours.When we took our shoes off, we discovered we had created felt.

We discussed what the conditions were like inside our shoes, that could have led to this transformation and came up with:
*  heat
*  moisture
*  pressure and movement

Next we tried to achieve the same result with cotton wool and with polyester. However after 24 hours or longer inside a shoe, neither the cotton, nor the polyester had felted. There must be something about the wool fibre that causes it to felt ... next step in our inquiry is to magnify a wool fibre and see what we find.
